    My Cookbook Addiction

If you’ve been following this blog, you probably know I love to cook and entertain. And one of the ways I feed my hobby is collecting fabulous cookbooks. I love to peruse them (I will literally read them cover to cover) for new and fun recipe ideas. I recently picked up Beautiful Boards: 50 Amazing Snack Boards.

Have you seen this trend of creating boards of food? It is really fun, and can be so easy! I recently put together this salad board together when I hosted two girlfriends for dinner.

It allowed everyone to choose exactly what they wanted on the salad (and their choice of dressing). I also provided some protein to put on the salads. Since this was a steak salad board, I prepared my favorite cut of beef, beef tenderloin (this is the most delicious and foolproof way to make them!), and served it sliced on the side.

You can use any large platter or even an actual wooden board.

I picked up this unique wooden board in Ireland 10 years ago.

I love picking up souvenirs like this when we travel, because I actually use them. And when I do pull it out, I always reminisce about the trip. This trip to Ireland was particularly special because it was Nate’s first trip overseas. Look at this kid…

He may be 10 years older but he’s still my silly monkey!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Wishing you a wonderfully restful weekend!
