What We're Building: Jen's Week In Review

Hello friends! How are you holding up? I hope this finds you and your family well, both physically and mentally. I know these times are strange for all of us, but I hope you’ve been able to find some joy in this forced slower pace of life.

    Custom Home Building & COVID – 19

As an essential business, NDI is still building and fully operational, it just looks a little different these days with social distancing. Check out my blog post that explains what custom home building currently looks like and specifically how NDI is operating during this time. We just feel incredibly blessed for the opportunity to continue our work!

Are you interested in building your home in 2020? NDI continues to safely plan and build homes for our clients. We can complete the pre-construction planning so you will be well-positioned to meet your 2020 timeline, even during these times. Contact us today to schedule your virtual design meeting!

    Finding A New Routine

I don’t know about you, but I love routine. With everything shut down (gyms, schools, etc), I’ve been struggling with the loss of my daily routine, specifically my fitness routine. I’m not self-motivated when it comes to exercising. If left up to my own devices, I’ll stay in bed and sleep the extra hour before I’ll get up to workout. But over the last several years, I’ve found that if I’m being held accountable by an outside force (i.e. meeting a friend for a run or attending a fitness class), I’m up every single time – that’s the “pleaser” in me!

I found OrangeTheory Fitness last year and I LOVE IT. I get the same “high” I used to get from running but it’s lower impact and packs a punch (think high intensity intervals). I’ve become a junky over the last 8 months, so when my OTF studio had to shut down, I was crushed. How would I self-motivate and continue my workouts at home?

Last weekend, Paul set up a home gym for me in our garage and oh my word, it just makes me happy.

We’ve had the treadmill and the elliptical forever, but since I don’t work out at home, I haven’t used them forever. In fact, I was trying to get rid of both pieces a month ago! Thank you Jesus that I didn’t!

I’ve had to improvise a bit since I don’t have all of the equipment found at the studio. For example, I’m using the cooler as my bench for strength training and some leftover carpet for my floor mat. It isn’t perfect but it works!

It just feels good to do something “normal”.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Keep smiling and remember, this is temporary and we WILL get back to our routines soon!

    Stay well friends!
