Tell us about yourself! Your background, your family, where you live, etc…

I was born in Lancaster County PA but have lived in Manassas all my life. I graduated from OPHS in 1986, and my first job was working at Shoney’s Restaurant as a server. I actually obtained that job on my 16th birthday along with my driver’s license. I have also worked at IBM, Glen Gery Brick, Mobil Headquarters and the World Bank.

My 1st car was a 1967 Pontiac Lemans, followed by a 1972 SS Camaro but hands down, my 2001 Bullitt Mustang will always be my favorite! I’ve been married for almost 10 years to a great guy, have two younger brothers and when I say younger, I mean I was 17 when the 1st one was born and almost 21 for the 2nd. I lost my mother to cancer in 2003 but thankfully I still have my dad whom lives here in Manassas as well.

I think the coolest part of my life right now is that I currently reside in my mother’s childhood home. My grandparents bought the place in the 40’s, and I’m very at peace there. It’s like my own little sanctuary, filled with lots of love and happy memories.

What do you do for the NDI Team? Tell us about your role, how you manage all the moving parts, etc…

I was initially hired in May 2006 to handle Customer Service and then around late 2007 I also took on the Project Coordinator responsibilities. Basically what that means is that I’m with our clients from the time of excavation through eternity, LOL! I’ll explain more about that in a minute.

As Project Coordinator I am essentially the liaison between our clients, Project Managers and the office. I help guide our clients through the building process, assist with getting utilities set up, monitor progress, help make plan and/or selection changes and address any concerns, questions or anything else that may be needed. Customer Service is pretty much self-explanatory but after clients take possession of their home, if warranty issues arise, I’m there to oversee that they are taken care of. I also schedule and handle our settlements and in all honesty, handing over the keys to a client’s beautiful brand new home makes the difficult days’ worth it. There isn’t anything more satisfying in what I do here than to watch a person beam with excitement and joy, starting the next chapter in their life.

Building a home is a big process. What are some words of advice you’d like to give clients?

Trust the process. NDI has been in business since 1988 and we deeply care about our people, YOU! We are not perfect by any means but we do take pride in what we do and know what we are doing. We are a hardworking, honest, and knowledgeable unit of coworkers, friends and family. You are in good hands! The bottom line is this: NDI stands behind their product. I’ve witnessed it first hand when our company has gone back to a house 10-15 years later and fixed something that wasn’t right. Not because they had to but because it was the right thing to do.

Some clients might not know it, but you’re married to top-notch NDI Project Manager, Rick. What’s it like to work with your spouse?

Rick just celebrated his 25th year with NDI and to me, that speaks volumes about NDI and Rick. It’s nice to be able to come home and talk about your day with someone who knows exactly what you are talking about but on the other hand, it’s also not so nice when you are ready to call it a day but your co-worker/spouse is not. 🙂 However, if it weren’t for NDI, our paths may have never crossed. What a blessing!

What is something about yourself that the NDI team doesn’t know about you?

Hmmm? Now that’s an interesting question. After working at NDI for over 10 years, are there really any secrets left to reveal?

What do you do when you’re not working?

I’m an avid animal lover and would save them all if I could. I currently have four cats, Sheba, Sophie, Emma, and Roxie, and they are my world! I also love to cook, listen to music, vacation at the beach and spend time with family and friends. I’m a Real Housewives TV junkie, love working in my yard and feeding my neighbor’s chickens. Yes, my neighbors have chickens and they are the cutest things ever! Currently, Christmas is on my agenda. I have already started shopping and planning my decorations and celebrations. And if anyone is wondering what they can get me for Christmas, the answer would be SNOW!
