    A Word From Jen...Baseball & Home Values

I’ve recently started a feature in our weekly newsletter called, “A Word From Jen…”, which is a short touch point we will post each week to keep you informed about what’s happening around NDI, and even in my own house. Here we go! _______________________________________________________________________

I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July! Our family was in town for the weekend for the first time in several years, mainly because our oldest son is playing for the Falls Church Kiwanis Little League Majors All-Star team.

All-star season is intense, but the boys are playing well together and having a blast. So are the parents! Our kids have been playing ball together for a long time, so we all have fun watching the games together!

How are Virginia home values performing? It has been over a year since the Fed started raising interest rates which has had a big impact on mortgage rates. As rates have been on the rise, a lot of people have been waiting to see what will happen to home values. Unlike the housing recession of 2008 where we saw a massive drop in home values, this time around, Virginia home values have not only held, but they have increased since this time last year. Most experts believe the lack of inventory is definitely one of the main reasons home values continue to rise. Sellers are getting top dollar for their homes (often with competing bids) because there isn’t a lot on the market to choose from.
